An impromptu Tale

At some point in my life, I found myself on an Island named Tanna, with a girl named Heidi. Tanna is most well known for its inhabitants whom have an apparent belief that Prince Philip is God. Heidi is most well known for growing up on a farm in Australia. Anyway.
Here is Heidi, and some of the Tannese:

Now I don't think i'm the best person with words, which is why i wanted to make this a picture story. But then again, i'm not very good at taking photos of Sonic Booms. So perhaps this story would be somewhat lacking either way.
Basically, we saw a Volcano in the distance, we drove to this Volcano, we set up camp, we climbed the Volcano, we stood on the rim and were several times erupted over, which was something we couldn't take pictures of because we were literally running for our lives. When we did take pictures though, they tended to miss the pinacle of the eruption. The trouble with light is that it's faster than sound. So we would see the Sonic boom leave the Crater (ideal photo opportunity), and then attempt to take a photo as said Boom took our breath away, rattled our ear drums and jellied our legs.
We climbed back down a bit late and were engulfed by darkness, and then by a cloud of Sulpher.
Three hours Later, we decided to return, through the Sulphur cloud, in the dark, back up Mount Yasur (quite unwise). And we stayed for the sunrise. This bit was quite scary because in the morning the crater was very steamy, so while we could hear the eruptions, we had only the wind direction to rely on to know whether we were safe from the Lava and ash.
I'm glad we took this unsafe risk because it was one of the most extraordinarily beautiful moments in my life. We snapped some pictures of the surrounding Island, then inconveniently dropped our crocs down the ashy slope of the volcano. So we had no choice but to slip, slide, run and roll down the ash plains. Hard times.

This is that same story in Pictures. There's a great deal of them, but a lot of them are beautiful, if you click and make them bigger:

This picture is quite important. We returned from our mornings adventure to an empty tent and equally empty wallets. We shared a single Oreo, which is all we had to eat that day. Sad.
